In the various offer of the City Hall building, several permanent thematic exhibitions have been set up about history of the city and City Hall itself.
The renovation of the City Hall involved detailed works on all parts of the building, both indoor and outdoor, on façade, carpentry, decoration, etc.
The main project for the reconstruction of the City Hall Sarajevo was made on the basis of the original project documentation, with reference to the original documentation of the City Hall construction and after extensive research.
Following the successful completion of the necessary sanitation works from the first phase of reconstruction, the second phase of reconstruction started in 2002.
The reconstruction of the City Hall was done in several stages, as the renovation process was conditioned by the technical and financial assumptions that had to be fulfilled with the coordination of the investor, technical teams and all structures involved in the reconstruction.
In just one night, between 25th to 26th of August, 1992., aggressor sent a fire grenades and made a huge fire to the City Hall. On that occasion, the building was destroyed, and about two million books, articles and magazines disappeared irretrievably.
