ARS AEVI - Contemporary Art Exhibition

The City Hall houses the exhibition of the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art "Ars Aevi", in which between 60 and 70 percent of the Museum's holdings are presented.

The Museum of Contemporary Art "Ars Aevi" (the name of the Museum is an incomplete anagram of the name Sarajevo, with the meaning: Art of the epoch in the Latin language) was created during the war in 1992. The unique Ars Aevi collection, composed of works donated by some of the most famous domestic and international artists, arrived in Sarajevo in 1999. Today, this collection is considered one of the most significant collections of contemporary art in Southeast Europe.
